Grid Runner is PLAY GRID's first real-time 3D game: a Temple Run-style endless runner built with Babylon.js, running entirely in the browser. The grid is collapsing behind you — run along three lanes, dodging and weaving through a procedurally generated track that shifts through three color themes the further you get.
You don't steer forward — the run does that for you, and it keeps getting faster. Your job is to switch lanes around red walls, jump yellow bars, and duck under blue ones. Miss one and it's over. Along the way, glowing energy cores build a combo multiplier up to ×6 if you keep chaining pickups within 2.2 seconds.
No fixed timer — score is how far you get plus how well you chained cores along the way. Runs end in a snap and restart just as fast.
How to play
- Desktop: A/D or arrow keys to switch lanes, Space to jump, hold S to duck.
- Mobile: swipe left/right to switch lanes, swipe up (or tap) to jump, swipe down or hold the DUCK button to duck.
- Collect glowing cores — each is worth 10 points times your current combo multiplier.
- Chain pickups within 2.2 seconds to keep the multiplier climbing, up to ×6.
- Red walls block one lane — switch out of it. Yellow bars need a jump, blue bars need a duck.
- Hit an obstacle and the run ends — submit your score to the global leaderboard.
Tips from the leaderboard
- Speed ramps up continuously — the run that felt comfortable at 100m will feel twitchy by 800m. Commit to reactions early.
- Cores are usually placed to reward a lane you'd take anyway — don't drift into a wall just to grab one.
- When in doubt about a bar, jump — mistiming a duck is punished harder than mistiming a jump.
- Watch for the milestone toast messages; they're a good cue that the pace is about to pick up again.
