Idiom Press is a standalone Chinese idiom deduction game, not a language toggle attached to the English edition. Each daily issue asks for one four-character idiom in six accepted attempts. Exact characters receive a teal dot, characters found in a different position receive an ochre hatch, and absent characters receive a graphite dash. A definition card appears after every result, turning failure into a useful piece of language knowledge.
Input is designed for phones and learners. Type pinyin initials such as jbbb, complete pinyin, or Chinese characters; the local catalogue presents matching idioms for selection. The daily issue is shared worldwide and extends its own Chinese-edition streak. Unlimited practice supplies fresh idioms without changing that record.
The visual identity draws from literary journals, library index slips and movable-type printing. Every control remains real browser text and a real input field, so Chinese composition, accessibility and keyboard navigation stay reliable.
