RIFTWARDEN combines two pressures that normally live in different games. Underground, it is a compact mining run: crack through layered rock, spot cyan crystal, gold ore and rare red cores, and fit the best haul into a limited cargo bay. Above ground, it becomes a manual defense game: swing the dome railgun from one horizon to the other and prioritize fast fliers, heavy elites and ground attackers.
The bridge between those halves is the interesting decision. Each shift gives you exactly 38 seconds. Returning early means a clean defense start. Staying deep may uncover a red core that unlocks a major weapon upgrade, but if the clock reaches zero the emergency recall shocks the dome based on your depth. Progress is not about clicking faster; it is about knowing when the next block is no longer worth the risk.
After each wave, choose one of three upgrades. Faster drills and magnetic boots improve the next mining run. Focus coils, rapid power and phase rounds strengthen the railgun. Cargo expansion and dome armor buy room for greed. The build changes the balance between the two phases every wave.
How to play
- Mine: move with WASD or arrow keys. Pushing into rock automatically drills it.
- Watch the clock: press Space or Enter at the surface to return early.
- Defend: aim with the mouse and hold to fire; the barrel gently assists near a target.
- Upgrade: blue crystal powers utility, gold improves weapons, and red cores unlock advanced systems.
- On touch screens, use the left virtual stick to mine and drag on the right side to aim and auto-fire.
The game uses only Canvas drawing and synthesized WebAudio during play, so it opens quickly and stays playable without downloading runtime art packs.
